First of all, Come Sail is a concept, not a business. You are our travel companions, not our customers. We share the costs and we travel together.
When you arrive you will be assigned a berth in one of the cabins. All tasks aboard are shared, and we all take our turn sailing, cooking, cleaning and doing dishes. The food aboard is adopted to availability of ingredients. We may not be able to cater special dietary needs.
Sailing is our primary mode of propulsion. Our trips are planned with a timeframe that leaves room for exploring, relaxing and delays caused by weather or unforeseen incidents.
Most trips have a combination of shorter coastal legs and island jumps. You may attend without any prior sailing experience, all tasks will be instructed, though a few of the trips are ocean crossings and these should not be attended for the complete novice.
Everyone aboard S/Y Klaus Størtebeker are responsible for contributing to a pleasant and safe voyage. This entails keeping things in order, performing your assigned tasks, take good care of yourself and your fellow crew.
At the end of the trip you are expected to clean your cabin, bathroom, towels and linen.
You must bring a valid passport and make sure you have the necessary visas for entering the countries that are part of the trip. We have limited space for luggage, travel light.
Power and water are generally limited supply. You must be prepared to save on both power and water compared to what you may be used to at home.
We have satellite based communication that you are welcome to use when we are offshore and out of cellular range, this may incur extra cost.
Due to weather conditions or unforeseen incidents it may not always be possible to adhere to the announced schedule. The date or place of arrival or departure may have to be altered in these circumstances. We are not able to compensate you in any way if this occurs.
We charge $50 (US) a day, this includes fuel, harbor fees and food aboard. The rate includes a contribution towards maintenance of the vessel. There are no refunds. If you want snacks, soft drinks or alcoholic beverages, you should bring your own favourites.
We record events and activities aboard that we may use in electronic or printed media. By participating on a trip with us you consent to the use of pictures, videos and audio recordings made during the trip in our present and future electronic, printed or social media channels or products.

Risk
Take a moment to reflect on the inherent uncertainties and risks involved in sailing and traveling by sail. The forces of nature are immense and somewhat unpredictable, this may pose physical risks as well as logistical ones. We may not always reach our destination in time and we may encounter incidents that put us in harms way. We can not take financial responsibility for delays, other changes to the itinerary, medical expenses or any other expense you may have directly or indirectly from sailing with us. We advice you to consider flexible travel arrangements and suitable insurance coverage.
